Workshop#1 at

James laid out a range of materials for us to create abstract film without cameras, each of us working on a small section of one long film strip. We used blackboard paint-pens, nail varnish, letraset, stickers, scalpels, hole punches, inks, wire brushes and more.

We were able to see the results immediately, our film spliced together and run through the projector. Excellent results!  Although all over so quickly, literally in a flash, with the blink of an eye!

Painting onto clear 16mm film with nail varnish...
