Are you a young filmmaker interested in learning about filmmaking, scriptwriting and film theory? Apply to take part in a five-day workshop, coinciding with Film Africa 2016 and led by Director Saeed Taji Farouky.  

The sessions will explore a range of film genres including: feature film, documentary and music video through practical workshops, screenings and talks by invited specialists working in the industry. The film school will enable participants to gain an understanding of the basic technical aspects of camera, gain hands-on experience and develop their own film style for telling stories with.
 
Participation in the REcreative Film School 2016 is free, but by application only and space on the course is limited. We are looking for students who are at the beginning of their film career, and in particular those who are from backgrounds which are underrepresented in the film industry.  Experience isn’t necessary but you need to have a passion to learn about film and a willingness to work together as a group.
